-3-

i

"Building Can Be Beautiful" Continued
Bud Oglesby

He is intrigued by the Marble quarry and thinks that we can attract artists to
the community and perhaps help Marble become an important aspect of the
artistic community.

Mr. Oglesby's parting remark was, "Don't set your sights too low for this
beautiful Marble area."

Open dIscussion during each segment, was the watchword of the day. Many
good ideas were brought forth for improvement of the area. A few of them are
as follows:

1. Socio-Economic study should be made
of the Marble area to determine needs.
Ex: Wlll there be jobs to support ,ncrease
in population?

2. Start a center for services. Applicant pays a
small fee to register his talents and availability,
The center then puts out a brochure listing these
services and connects employee with employer

3. A change of color for the existing Ski lift was
suggested: Either green or brown

4. That an ecologist walk with the "cat" on building
locations, in order to disturb nature as little
as possible

Mr. Robert Annis also explained the Marble Metropolitan District as follows:

The new site, which is State approved, is at the end of the Airstrip. Capacity
for handllng sewage is 55,000 gallons per day. The treatment is secondary,
primary and tertiary. The water plant is scheduled to be installed above the
Village and the plan is being reviewed by three different engineering firms.
After complaints were lodged by local citizens, the Beard voluntarily and in
a spirit of cooperation, elected to move the location of the sewer treatment
plant from a site above the Town of Marble to a site located below.

I
I.

! ...-----

-

I
