<br />6.2.1 Site Visits
<br />The Office of Emergency Management and Colorado
<br />Water Conservation Board will participat" in onsite visits
<br />with a goal of reaching each of the Colorado counties
<br />over a five-year period, Not only v.;1I this give the state a
<br />first-hand look at the progress of mrtigation
<br />implementation in the counties, but it v.;1I provide an
<br />opportunity for local level officials and the county EMCs
<br />to address needs, barrlers, problems, and successes in
<br />their local mitigation efforts, The visits will be structured
<br />so that county EMCs and floodplain administrators are
<br />able to demonstrate their mrtigation pr~lress, This may
<br />also involve meeting with other local mitigation
<br />participants, such as the local utilities, county highway
<br />officials, or community organizations.

<br />6.2.2 Written Reporting
<br />Each lead agency will be responsible for providing
<br />periodic written progress reports to OEM, The format for
<br />these reports v.;11 be developed by OEM to capture the
<br />information necessary to monitor progress in
<br />implementing mrtigation recommendations,
<br />
<br />6.2.3 Survey and Evaluation
<br />The public, including local officials, v.;1I be surveyed to
<br />monitor increases in awareness, understanding, and
<br />acceptance of hazard mrtigation as a valid issue,
<br />Policymakers v.;1I be surveyed to monitor changes in ,
<br />their awareness, understanding, and pl'iority ranking of !
<br />mrtigation as it relates to policy development.
