<br />6.1 Implementation and
<br />Monitoring
<br />
<br />Successful implementation of Colorado's Flood Hazard
<br />Mitigation Plan is the next step in thE! plan process.
<br />Both state and local Involvement continue to be the
<br />foundation during the implementation and monrtorlng
<br />phases, The local emergency management offices, the
<br />State Hazard Mitigation Team (SHMT), and other state
<br />level agencies will also play key roles in effective
<br />Implementation and monrtoring,
<br />
<br />6.1.1 Governor's Office
<br />The Governors Office or the Governors Authorized
<br />Representative (GAR) in coordination ,,;th OEM, DNR,
<br />SHMT, CNHMC, CWCB, and other responsible state
<br />agencies, will Initiate a memoranda of agreement wrth
<br />designated state agencies Identified in the
<br />recommendation section of this plan to accomplish
<br />mrtlgatlon Inmrtlatlves in Colorado,
<br />
<br />6.1.2 Role of Office of Emergency
<br />Management (OEM) and Colorado
<br />Water Conservation Board (CWCB)
<br />The Colorado Office of Emergency Management
<br />(OEM) and the Colorado Water Cons,ervation Board
<br />(CWCB) will be responsible for coordinating the
<br />implementation and monitoring activities developed
<br />through the planning process and detailed In this plan
<br />document. They will involve the SHMT, other state
<br />agencies, county emergency management
<br />coordinators (EMCs), and other state and local level
<br />organizations, OEM and CWCB will work closely with
<br />the Colorado Natural Hazards Mitigation Council to get
<br />feedback and assistance In monitoring the progress
<br />during this phase,

<br />develop and conduct education and outreach actlvrtles
<br />to Introduce the plan to Coloradans, Actlvrtles will be
<br />targeted to specialized audiences: local level officials,
<br />state agHncies, and po~icymakers. TheSE! audiences
<br />have been a part of the plan development and they will
<br />continue their participation through expanded
<br />awareness of their stake in its successful

<br />as well as the private and academic sectors, are
<br />working together as a dynamic coalrtion to address
