REQUEST FOR LETTER OF MAP REVISION SKUNK CREEK UNIVERSITY OF COLORADO AT BOULDER - BOULDER, COLORADO 1,0 INTRODUCTION 1.1 PurpoRe of Study Community Name: County: State: City of Boulder Boulder Colorado 1.2 Authority and Acknowledgement This request is being made to account for the completed construction of channel improvements to Skunk Creek between Foothills Parkway and Colorado Avenue, located on State of Colorado land within the City of Boulder, Colorado. Construction of this project was completed in the fall of 1988. The 100-year storm discharge for fully developed basin conditions was used as the design discharge for the design of the flood control channel. The hydraulic analysis for this study has been prepared by Love & Associates, Inc. for the University of Colorado at Boulder Research Park (UCBRP). The hydraulic analysis utilizes as-built cross sections of the Skunk Creek Channel Improvement Project between Foothills Parkway (Colorado Highway 157) and Colorado Avenue in Boulder, Colorado within the UCBRP (Ref. 1) and as-built topographic mapping prepared at a scale of 1-inch equals 50 feet with a 1-foot contour interval (Ref. 2). The channel improvement project was sponsored and funded solely by the University of Colorado at Boulder. The original lOa-year floodplain and floodway were delineated by Greenhorne & O'Mara, Inc. (Ref. 3). Hydrology for this submittal was obtained from the Flood Hazard Area Delineation. Boulder and Adjacent Countv Drainageways, May 1987, prepared by Greenhorne & O'Mara, Inc. (Ref. 3). These Greenhorne & O'Mara studies were based upon the MSM/SP Group (now Greiner Sciences, Inc.) study for FEMA for the recently revised FIRM (Ref. 4).
