The in- <br />vestigation should include a hydrologic and hy- <br />draulic analysis of the area of the Fall River <br />\'.est from the confluence of Big Thanpson and <br />Fall River, through Estes Park, to the National <br />Park Boundary. This study should include Larimer <br />County unincorporated areas and the TcMn of <br />Estes Park. <br /> <br />Background: <br /> <br />The flow of the Fall River caused cross-sections <br />of the stream to change dramatically. In <br />addition silting in of the channel has ocarrretl <br />in man:?places. A restudy of the Fall River <br />v.Duld accurately display the 100-year floodplain. <br />An updated map would aid local officials in <br />future planning along the Fall River. <br /> <br />Lead Agency: <br /> <br />Federal ErrErgency Manageroont Agency. <br />Federal Eirergency Management Agency. <br />Report oanpleted within 30 days. <br /> <br />Financing: <br /> <br />Schedule: <br /> <br />2. Work Eleroont: Provide guidance on flood proofing of buildings <br />and dwellings that incu=ed major damage in the <br />'Ibwn of Estes Park and Larimer County. <br /> <br />Background: <br /> <br />Replaceroont of buildings and structures in <br />the 100-year floodplain will be required to <br />confO:r!ll to both the Larimer County and Town <br />of Estes Park floodplain management resolutions <br />and ordinances. <br /> <br />Lead Agency: <br /> <br />Federal ErrErgency Management Agency <br /> <br />Financing: <br /> <br />None required <br /> <br />Schedule: <br /> <br />On-going <br /> <br />3. <br /> <br />Work Element: <br /> <br />Develop minimum design and construction standards <br />for the replacanent of privately owned bridges. <br /> <br />Background: The same action was initiated by Larimer County <br />after the Big Thanpson flood disaster of 1976. <br />Standard design fonnats allCM for economies of <br />scale and streamline the bidding process.
