<br />TABLE 2 <br />Undesie:nated Floodplain Studies in Basalt Area <br /> <br /> Report <br />Study Name Author Date Desh'llatiou Status <br />Flood Insurance Study, Eagle County, Colorado, Federal Emergency Revised To be designated during the <br />Unincorporated Areas Management Agency January 25, year 2002 <br /> 1983 <br /> <br />; and <br /> <br />FLOODPLAIN INFORMATION TO BE DESIGNATED <br /> <br />WHEREAS, Matrix Design Group completed a new report entitled "Floodplain <br />Information Report, Roaring Fork River, Town of Basalt, Eagle and Pitkin Connties, Colorado" <br />dated November 14, 2001; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, said new report contains detailed floodplain information for the Roaring Fork <br />River for a 9.6 mile reach beginning at the Garfield/Eagle Connty Line and continuing upstream to <br />the confluence with Snowmass Creek; and <br /> <br />LOCAL REOUEST FOR DESIGNATION <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the CWCB contacted the Town of Basalt, Eagle County, and Pitkin Connty via <br />telephone regarding the CWCB's designation and approval process for floodplain information; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the Town of Basalt and Pitkin Connty transmitted letters to the CWCB requesting <br />designation and approval of said new study for the Roaring Fork River within their respective <br />jUlisdictions; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, Eagle County has not yet requested designation and approval of said new study <br />for the Roaring Fork river within their jurisdiction pending endorsement from the Board of Connty <br />Commissioners regarding a zero rise floodway along said study reach; and <br /> <br />c.R.S. AUTHORITY <br /> <br />WHEREAS, Section 37-60-106(1)(c), Colorado Revised Statutes, requires the Colorado Water <br />Conservation Board to assist in the prevention of floods and flood damages therefrom; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, Sections 31-23-301 and 30-28-111, Colorado Revised Statutes, provide that <br />legislative bodies of local jurisdictions may provide zoning regulations for land uses on or along any <br /> <br />2 <br />
