There was intonse thunderstorm activity along this front, with
a 6torm c",ntering over Gering Valley. A "bud:et survey" of tho storm area
indicated that approximately ten inches of rain fell in the storm center
at the head of Gering Valley between 6:00'p.m. on 17 Jurw (\nd 7:00 a.m. on
i8 June, with approximately eight inches falling during a three-hour period,
-ending at 9:00 p.m., 17 June (see isohyetal map, plate No.2). The reports of rainfall in Mitohell
Valley, to the north; indicated that it was heavy in only a small area.
