Flood at Sidney, Nebraska, on 17 June 1947. A report of a flood
at Sidney, Nebraska, was received on 18 June. Investigation revealed that
2.5 inches of rain fell at Sidney between 5:00 p.m. and 11:20 p.m. on 17
June; the most intense portion of the storm occurring between 5:30 and
6,00 p.m. The storm runoff over-taxed the storm sewers in Sidney, flood-
ing the streets and many basements in low lying sections of the tovm.
This water damage was considered to be due to poor local drainage and,
therefore, no estimate was made of the damage.
