<br />, ' <br /> <br />September 2, 1990 <br /> <br />December 28,1990 <br /> <br />Black Tiger Gulch in Boulder County <br /> <br />Approximately 2.5 to 3.0 inches of rain fell in a two hour <br />period causing Black Tiger Gulch, a tributary of Boulder <br />Creek, to flood for the second time this season. The flood <br />carried trees, brush and rocks into the roadway blocking <br />traffic for three hours. 3 inches of muddy water covered <br />the Highway 119 for 60 to 70 feet. <br /> <br />Sources: David M. Day, Department of Highways Flood <br />Structure Summary <br /> <br />Roaring Fork River at Basalt <br /> <br />An ice jam gave way in Snowmass Canyon above the town <br />of Basalt. The 4 foot high ice surge flowed through town <br />in approximately 10-15 minutes hitting town between 3- <br />3:30pm. There was no serious property damage reported; <br />however, the ice surge cleared the river of snags and logs. <br />The town manager compared the flood level to that of 1984. <br /> <br />Source: Denver Post 12/29/90 <br />
