OPEN DITCHES

Open drainage ditches have been used for drainage in rrany areas,

particularly along 8th Avenue east of Yuma, Beatty Avenue in the

northwest area of Yuma, and the north side of the Burlington

Northern Railroad. Open ditches are the most economical method

of relieving drainage from an area and continued usage should

be encouraged. It is recommended that all existing ditches be

kept and maintained to allow proper drainage away from the areas.

E.
