Structures with Regulatory Effects; There are no structures in the <br /> <br />~. <br /> <br />study area that have significant regulatory facilities. <br />? <br /> <br />5, Historic Floods, Streamflow data are available for Rock Creek from <br /> <br />May 1935 to September 1955, The maximum discharge during this period <br /> <br />i <br />l <br /> <br />, <br /> <br />was 190 c,f,s, on 19 August 1952 and was the result of rainfall runoff, <br /> <br />No records of any damage sustained are available. <br /> <br />No streamflow data are available for 'the Zapata Creek drainage area, <br /> <br />Of the several floods which have occurred during historical times in <br /> <br />t <br /> <br />,Alamosa, all but the one of 1911 occurred ,from the melting of heavy snow. <br /> <br />: <br />. <br />j <br />, <br />~ <br />. <br />f <br />. <br /> <br />These floods resulted from overflow of the Rio Grande, <br /> <br />- <br /> <br />6, Regional Frequency Analysis. There is a streamflow record for Rock <br /> <br />, <br />- <br />i <br />I <br />I <br /> <br />Creek located about 20 miles upstream from the concentration point of <br /> <br />Rock Creek basin on the foothills of the mountains, Peak flows are <br /> <br />available from May 1935 to September 1955 with the maximum discharge <br /> <br />during this period being 190 c.f.s, on 19 August 1952 resulting mainly <br /> <br />from rainfall runoff. A tabulation of yearly discharge peaks for Rock <br /> <br />Creek indicated 'that II out of 2l years of record were from rainfall. <br /> <br />Frequency curves were developed for snowmelt peaks and for rainfall peaks, <br /> <br />~ <br />
