Dr. John Liou
July 22, 1982
Page 2

CAMP DRESSER & McKEE INC,

both Kettl e and Pine Creeks. Dther corporate 1 imit changes in
the Cottonwood Creek and Fountain Creek areas shoul d al so be
included on the final FIS maps. COM will investigate the scope
of such changes, and advise FEMA accordingly.

New drainage improvements along the Peterson Field drainageway at
Hancock and Academy Soul evard, as well as the reach of the
Peterson Field Drainage upstream of this structure, to the
current FIS downstream study 1 imit, were di scussed. Colorado
Springs official s expressed a desire to include this reach of
Peterson Field in the study, and suppl ied infonnation on who to
contact for possibl e topographic mapping. CDM will incl ude thi s
area in the study, provided topographic mapping is available.
CDM will pursue this immediately in order to advise both the
City, State and FEMA officials.

Detailed work maps showing topography, flood boundaries and
floodway, and channel cross-section locations, were reviewed (in
part) during this meeting. CDM indicated that it would provide
these maps, in blueline form, to the City's engineering
department to aid in their current flood plain management and
regulation effort. Copies of these maps will also be provided to
El Paso County, CWCS, and the PPACG.

Development associated with the proposed Corporate Centre project
was also discussed. CDM has received from the developer's
engineer, sufficient technical data for FEMA to use in the flood
insurance study. At this time, however, CDM will refrain from
presenting this infonnation on the present flood plain FIS maps
until this project has been constructed. CDM will be in close
contact with the City's engineering department, so the most
accurate representation of channel modifications of Monument
Creek can be included on the maps and profiles.

Finally, a 3D-day local official review period was discussed.
The City indicated they thought this was a reasonable time frame
in wt1ich to make comments concerning the study and its content.
Omissions such as the Douglas Creek flood plain on the set of
maps submitted July 20th, will be provided to the City by CDM
within this time frame.
