GERALD A. GIBBENS

Page 2

Sear-Brown Group

Performed work in water resources, hydraulics and hydrology. Specific activities included:

· Plan and design drainage facilities for mining areas covered under the EPA Superfund
project. Performed basin hydrology and flood routing, relocation and rehabilitation of
natural streams, design detention and retention ponds and developed networks of
wasterock pile runoff collection ditches. Prepared conceptual and final design packages,
including plans, specifications, and reports.
. Prepared master drainage reports for communities along the Colorado Front Rangc.
Water surface profiling programs, rainfall hydrograph packages and runoff routing
programs are used to analyze current drainage patterns, flood inundation areas and
hydraulic performance of culverts, channels and detention areas. Conceptual levcl
designs, policy statements and regulations are then prepared to control development
within the study area. Exhibits and written documents were prepared.
· Performed engineering analysis of hydrologic and hydraulic features for various projects,
including irrigation canal structures, culverts, storm sewers, open channels, regional
detention facilities and other structures.
· Aided in the duties of Town Engineer for small communities along the Colorado Front
Range. Duties included construction submittal review, providing technical assistance to
Town technicians in operation and maintenance of facilities, and providing technical
assistance and making recommendations to Town Administrators and councils regarding
water resources planning and decision making.

Natural Resources Consulting Engineers, Inc..

Performed work in water resources and irrigation engineering. Specific activities included:

. Performed final designs of reinforced-concrete irrigation facilities and measurement
structures, irrigation pipelines, and irrigation canal rehabilitation. Water-surface profiling
programs, spreadsheets and design software were used to determine existing and
proposed hydraulic characteristics of canals, structures, and pipelines. Construction
drawings, technical specifications and contract documents were prepared. On-site quality
control inspection and contract administration was carried out fDr designs.
· Prepared conceptual and feasibility level designs of new irrigation projects and
reconfiguration of existing projects, including determination of potential irrigable lands,
available water supply, crop water requirements and diversion requirements to size
project facilities. Reservoirs, canals, pumping facilities, delivery pipelines and on-farm
irrigation systems were designed. Spreadsheet models were developed to simulate project
operations. Capital costs and operating costs were estimated. Technical reports were
written documenting designs.
· Performed assessments and evaluations of existing irrigation systems, irrigation facilities,
and on-farm practices, and their impacts on basin hydrology. Information was used for
determination of assessments and for preparing project-specific and basin-wide
rehabilitationa.Ild bettt;Iment plans.

ltl[);\J (GO.1"ETfV W,!l.T50N

11II!:l
rt;'"ll'';p
~~\ft'k
