<br />e <br /> <br />FPR 94-356 <br /> <br />COLORADO WATER CONSERVATION BOARD <br />721 State Centennial Building <br />1313 Sherman Street <br />Denver, Colorado 80203 <br /> <br />May 26, 1994 <br />Revised July 19, 1994 <br /> <br />RESOLUTION <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the United States Army Corps of Engineers (Corps), Albuquerque District, <br />completed floodplain information reports for the Town of Granada, for the Arkansas River and <br />tributaries from Great Bend, Kansas, upstream to John Martin Dam, Colorado, and for the Town <br />of Holly on the dates listed in Table 1, attached hereto and by this reference incorporated herein; <br />and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, said Corps reports provide detailed floodplain information for the stream <br />reaches listed in Table I; and <br /> <br />e <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the Colorado Water Conservation Board designated and approved as <br />floodplain areas those areas described as being iIlUndated by a 100-year flood (or an intermediate <br />regional flood) as set forth in said Corps reports for the Town of Granada, for the Arkansas River <br />and tributaries, and for the Town of Holly by the resolutions indexed and dated as shown in <br />Table I; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the Corps and others completed floodplain information reports for the reach <br />of the Arkansas River near the City of Las Animas on the dates listed in Table 2, attached hereto <br />and by this reference incorporated herein; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, said reports provide approximate floodplain information for the stream <br />reaches listed in Table 2; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the Colorado Water Conservation Board did not designate and approve as <br />floodplain areas those areas as set forth in said reports for the City of Las Animas; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) completed <br />approximate floodplain maps (Flood Hazard Boundary Maps) for the City of Las Animas, for the <br />Town of Granada, and for the Town of Holly 011 the dates listed in Table 3, attached hereto and <br />by this reference incorporated herein; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, a significant portion of the City of Las Animas, a major portion of the Town <br />of Granada, and a major portion of the Town of Holly was shown as being in the 100-year <br />floodplain on said approximate maps and subject to the risk of flooding; and <br /> <br />e WHEREAS, the Colorado Water Conservation Board did not designate and approve as <br />floodplain areas those areas shown on said approximate maps; and <br />
