It can be used to produce inflow quantity and
quality input data for the Reservoir Water Quality program. This program also b lIS
capability to accept inflow quantity and quality storm water runoff from the
STORM model.
a. PROGRAM ....eIPleATIOM.
The program is written in FORTRAN IV. Dimensions allow for 10 inflow
tributaries and 5 withdrawals. Specifications for the computation, input and
output intervals must equal or exceed one hour.
f1u!'~!'BRt:hing network flows are transported downstream while the appropriate
chemical and biological reactions take place. When tributary inflows are encow -
tered, an instantaneous mixing occurs and the appropriate chemical and biologic 1
reactions continue. All reaction rates are adjusted based on the calculated
temperatures.
fh .auIPlll.IIT DnAILa 11\
: e program' is operational on the CDC 7600 and the UNIVAC 1108 but may be used
other high speed computers with minor modifications. The program requires 52K
words of storage on the CDC 7600. Program input options allow the user to
specify input-output unit numbers. In addition to these units, unit numbers 5,
6 and 7 are reserved for the card reader, line printer and card punch respec-
tively.
Thi~~;~~~Tmust read binary data on hydraulic and geometric conditions from
magnetic tape or disk as input. This tape can be produced automatically by the
Stream Hydrauliu program. Cards are used for general input information but
either cards or magnetic tape can be used for dsta transfer from previous runs
ma~ for u~stream reservoirs in a system analysis. The printes is u~e1 fOa ~en-
er outpu information but either cards or magnetic tape can e use or a a
transfer to downstream reservoirs. The program can output a magnetic tape for
input to the Statistical and Graphical Analysis of Water Quality Data progrSlll.
'0 ADDITIONAL ...MARKI
Correct application of this program requires interdisciplinarY technical
expertise. The output should be carefully evaluated by technical personnel
with training in hydrologic engineering and aquatic chemistry and biology.
National Weather Service (NWS) data is readily available from Ashville, NC
in format CD144. A separate utility program is available from the HEC for con-
verting the NWS data to the standard format of this progrSlll.

~'::'OII: 2883

""IIY'Que .DITION. Alt.
