Elliott, Jr.
Mayor, City of Broomfield
City Hall
No. 8 Garden Office
Broomfield, Colorado 80020

Subject: Review of Curvilinear Modification to
Flood Insurance Rate Map and/or Addition
of Special Flood Hazard Areas

Dear Mayor Elliott:

As consultants to the Federal Insurance Administration, Department
of Housing and Urban Development, for the modification of Flood
Insurance Rate Maps (FIRM) to a curvilinear form from their present
block form, and for the addition of special flood hazard areas, we
are enclosing two copies of the preliminary modified Flood Insurance
Rate Map for your community. We request that you review the map
for topographic accuracy and verify the community boundaries, street
names, watercourse names and location, etc. Any new hydraulic or
hydrologic data that have been generated as a result of changes in
the flood plain which have occurred after the date of publication
of the original Flood Insurance Study, and that would pertain to
the rated flood zones (Zones AI-3D), cannot be taken into account
on this modification. These zones may only be altered as described
in Section 1363 of Title XIII of the Flood Disaster Protection Act
of 1973. Our modification of the rated flood zones entails only
the plotting of the base flood elevation to the extent that the
floodwaters would inundate the surrounding land area as existed at
the time the original map was developed.

If you have any additional scientific or technical data pertaining
to the hydraulics or hydrology of the Special Flood Hazard Areas
(Zone A) or to the extent of land inundation shown for the rated
zone areas (Zones Al-30) that might justify modifying our results,
please use one copy of the enclosed map to identify the area of
concern and return it to us within twenty-one (21) calendar days
from the date of this letter. If you should find no conflict with
the maps, please return one copy of the maps with a letter stating
you have reviewed the accompanying material.
