<br />basin. The elevations in the basin range from 13,000 above <br />Copper Mountain to 9,000 feet at Lake Dillon. (Figure 1) <br /> <br />West Tenmile Creek forms the furthest west basin of the Blue <br />River Basin. It flows east from the Shrine Pass - Vail Pass <br />area to Wheeler Junction where it joins Terumile Creek. It <br />is separated from Terumile Creek by Copper Mountain to the <br />south. The basin has a total drainage area of 21 square <br />miles and its width varies from 5 miles at Vail Pass to <br />2 miles at the Copper Mountain Resort. The channel slope <br />varies from 4.7% around Vail Pass to 1.5% at Copper Mountain. <br />The elevations in the basin range from 13,000 feet to <br />9,600 feet at Wheeler Junction. (Figure 1) <br /> <br />The Meadow Creek basin flows east from the Gore Range into <br />Dillon Reservoir at Frisco just north of Lower Tenmile Creek. <br />It has a total drainage area of 5.8 square miles and a <br />length of 4.5 miles. The width of the basin varies from 1.0 <br />to 1.5 miles. The channel slope averages 1.7% in the study <br />reach at Frisco and a steep 10.7% above Frisco in the Gore <br />Range. The elevations in the basin range from 12,700 feet <br />to 9,000 feet at Dillon Reservoir. (Figure 1) <br /> <br />The willow Creek Basin drains east from the Gore Range into <br />the Blue River at Silverthorne, just north of Meadow Creek. <br />It has a total drainage area of 13.5 square miles and a total <br />basin length of 4.3 miles. The basin width varies from 4 <br />miles at the upper section around willow Lakes to 1 mile at <br />the foot of the Gore Range. The channel slope averages <br />2.7% at Silverthorne and a steep 9.8% in the Gore Range. <br />The elevations in the basin range from 13,300 feet to 8,620 <br />feet. (Figure 1) <br /> <br />Soda Creek Basin drains in a northerly direction into Dillon <br />Reservoir at the mouth of the Snake River from the timbered <br />rolling hills just east of the reservoir. The total drainage <br />area is approximately 10 square miles. The basin is 5 miles <br />long and basin width averages 2 miles. The channel slope varies <br />from 1.5% at its mouth to 9.0% in the upper basin. The <br />elevations in the basin range from 9,000 feet at its mouth to <br />11,000 feet.
