The schedule should indicate major milestones of the <br />planning process and the expected completion date of each <br />phase. <br /> <br />If awarded this grant, we would like to consider RFP's at <br />the earliest possible date and hire a consultant in the <br />early part of 2001. Having them on board during our snow- <br />melt season may give them additional insight to Delta's <br />specific concerns. <br />Through a process of public input and on-site investigation <br />we would then hope to see a plan develop by the end of <br />summer of 2001. <br /> <br />Below is a preliminary schedule: <br />2001 <br />- Award of grant January <br /> <br />- Grant documents and agreements - January/February <br /> <br />- Final selection of consultants ------- February <br /> <br />- Begin public meetings --------- March <br /> <br />- Site investigation -------- April/May <br /> <br />- Develop preliminary plan ------- June <br /> <br />Public input / FEMA review ------- June/July <br /> <br />- Acceptance of flood plan ------ July/August <br /> <br />9. <br /> <br />ADDITIONAL COMMENTS/INFORMATION <br /> <br />Include any additional information which will support the <br />proposed projectl which you feel is appropriate for use in <br />reviewing this application. <br /> <br />Over the past few years Delta has tried to take a more <br />practical approach to Flood Hazard Mitigation. We have been <br />in the forefront on the western slope of Colorado for the <br />CRS rating programl we have begun pUblic meetings on river <br />concerns 1 we have been designated a Project Impact Community <br />through FEMA, we have included a broad spectrum of private <br />and public involvement, we are working on a better early <br />
