Much of the channel is Iinercd with broken concrete or other dehris. The
Larimer County Health Department indicates thaI this area has suffered from ]ong-
term subsurface petroleum contamination. Soil and ground water testing has been
conducted in this area at the direction of the Colorado Department of Health.
Cleanup isrejXlrted to be in progress.

The habitat in the Alia Visla reach of Dry Creek is primarily heavily grazed
pasture or ungrazed hrome grass pasture. The stream channel was undeflned and
dry in most of the reach during a field visit in September 1990. Several low areas
contained a sedge/grass mixture. Just upstream from this area, the vegetation
consists of sedges and grasses and is heavily littered withlnlSh in one location. The
numerous spoil mounds and the heavily littered location may have some potential for
hazardolls or toxic waste contamination.
