<br />An initial coordination meeting for the Town of Superior was held <br />on April 2l, 1976, and attended by a representative of the FIA; the <br />Mayor of Superior; and representatives of the Boulder County <br />Planning and Public Works Department, the CWCB, and Howard, <br />Needles, Tammen & Bergendorff. The purpose was to discuss areas to . <br />be studied and methods to be used. On February 18, 1977, <br />representatives of the Federal Insurance Administration and Howard, <br />Needles, Tammen & Bergendorff met in Superior to review the study <br />limits. <br /> <br />The SCS, the CWCB, the Boulder County Courthouse, the USGS, and the <br />State Historical Society were contacted for available data. <br /> <br />The results of this study were reviewed at a final community <br />coordination meeting held on July 18, 1978. Attending the meeting <br />were representatives of the FIA, the study contractor, Boulder <br />County Planning and Public Works Department, the CWCB, and the <br />town. This study incorporates all appropriate comments, and all <br />problems have been resolved. <br /> <br />2.0 ARBA STUDIED <br /> <br />2.l Scope of Study <br /> <br />This Flood Insurance Study cov.ers the geographic area of Boulder <br />County, including the incorporllted Cities of Boulder, Lafayette, <br />Longmont, Louisville, the Towns of Jamestown, Lyons, Nederland, <br />Superior, and the unincorporated areas of Boulder County. <br /> <br />The streams studied by detailed methods are presented in Table l. <br /> <br />The areas studied by detailed methods were selected with priority <br />given to all known flood hazards and areas of projected development <br />or proposed construction through 1993. <br /> <br />The following are streams for which only approximate flood hazards <br />are presented: Gregory Creek, Bluebell Canyon Creek, Viele <br />Channel, Davids Draw, Anderson Ditch, Little Dry Creek, Sunshine <br />Gulch, Kings Gulch, and the upper reaches of Bear Canyon Creek. <br /> <br />Approximate analyses were used to study those areas having a low <br />development potential or minimal flood hazards.
