<br />RESOLUTION
<br />
<br />WHEREAS, the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Omaha District, completed three floodplain
<br />information reports entitled "Flood Plain Information, Metropolitan Region, Denver, Colorado,
<br />Volume I Su=ary Report, South Platte River, Waterton to Brighton, Colorado", dated October,
<br />1963; "Flood Plain Information, Metropolitan Region, Denver, Colorado, Volume II Su=ary
<br />Report, Sand, Toll Gate and Lower Cherry Creeks, South Platte River Basin", dated April, 1964; and
<br />"Flood Plain Information, Metropolitan Region, Denver, Colorado, Volume III Su=ary Report,
<br />Bear and Clear Creeks, South Platte River Basin", dated January, 1966, for the Inter-County Regional
<br />Planning Commission; and
<br />
<br />WHEREAS, the historic significance of these reports can be measured by the fact that they
<br />were the first floodplain information reports prepared for the State of Colorado that delineated 100-
<br />year floodplains for the purpose of regulating land use; and
<br />
<br />WHEREAS, the Colorado Water Conservation Board, as requested by the Inter-County
<br />Regional Planning Commission, by Resolution No. I, adopted on December 12, 1967, approved and
<br />designated the floodplains described in said reports; and
<br />
<br />WHEREAS, McCall-Ellingson & Morrill, Inc., under contract to the Urban Drainage and
<br />Flood Control District, completed a floodplain information report entitled "Major Drainageway
<br />Planning, little Dry Creek", dated February 1974; and
<br />
<br />WHEREAS, the Colorado Water Conservation Board, as requested by the Urban Drainage
<br />and Flood Control District, by Resolution No. 31, adopted on June 21, 1974, approved and
<br />designated the floodplains described in said report; and
<br />
<br />WHEREAS, V1N Colorado, Inc., under contract to the Urban Drainage and Flood Control
<br />District, completed a floodplain information report entitled "Major Drainageway Plan, Big Dry
<br />Creek", dated June 1975; and
<br />
<br />WHEREAS, the Colorado Water Conservation Board, as requested by the Urban Drainage
<br />and Flood Control District, by Resolution No. 45, adopted on July 9, 1975, approved .and designated
<br />the floodplains described in said report; and
<br />
<br />WHEREAS, Wright Water Engineers, Inc., under contract to the Urban Drainage and Flood
<br />Control District, completed a floodplain information report entitled "Flood Hazard Area Delineation,
<br />South Platte River, Denver Metropolitan Area, Sand Creek to Oxford Ave.", dated September 1985;
