2

The width of the Special Flood Hazard Area (SFHA) and the base flood elevations (BFEs) generally
decreased along the revised reach. However, the SFHA now reflects the split flow along Garfield
Avenue. The maximum width of this addition to the SFHA is approximately 100 feet. The maximum
decrease in SFHA width, approximately 800 feet, occurs approximately 500 feet upstream of the
intersection of Jefferson Avenue and Griffith Street. The maximum decrease in BFE, approximately
4 feet, occurs approximately 400 feet downstream of Garfield Avenue, where Drainageway A-I follows
the alignriIent of Goodhue Ditch. No property owners are affected by the SFHA along Garfield Avenue.

The modifications are shown on the enclosed annotated copy of FIRM Panel 08013C0560 F. This LOMR
hereby revises this panel of the effective FIRM dated June 2, 1995.

The following table is a partial listing of existing and modified BFEs:

Location

Just upstream of intersection of Jefferson Avenue
and Griffith Street
Approximately 420 feet upstream of intersection
of J efferson Avenue and Griffith Street
Along Goodhue Ditch approximately 400 feet downstream
of Garfield Avenue
Along Garfield Avenue approximately 400 feet downstream
of Garfield Avenue crossing of Goodhue Ditch
Approximately 150 feet upstream of Garfield Avenue
crossing of Goodhue Ditch

Existing BFE Modified BFE
(feet)* (feet)*
5,370 5,370
5,373 5,371
5,380 5,376
None 5,384
5,395 5,395

*Referenced to the National Geodetic Vertical Datum, rounded to the nearest whole foot

Public notification of the revised BFEs will be given in the Louisville Times on or about April 10 and
April 17, 1996.
