Specifically, this responds to a letter dated January 18, 1996, from
Mr. Daniel J. Burroughs, P. E., Project Engineer, Drexel Barrell, regarding the effective Flood Insurance
Rate Map (FIRM) for Boulder County, Colorado and Incorporated Areas. With his letter, Mr. Burroughs
provided additional infonnation to support his November 30, 1995, request for a Letter of Map Revision
(LOMR), On behalf of the Louisville Housing Authority, Mr. Burroughs requested that the Federal
Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) revise the effective FIRM to incorporate the results of revised
hydrologic and hydraulic analyses of unnamed flooding sources referred to locally as Drainageway A and
Drainageway A-I. The revised analyses affect the area upstream of the intersection of Jefferson Avenue
and Qriffith Street. From approximately 500 feet downstream of Garfield Avenue to approximately
.350 feet'upstream of Garfield Avenue, Drainageway A-I follows the same alignment as Goodhue Ditch.
However, Goodhue Ditch is not the source of flooding to this area.

All data required to complete our review of this request were submitted with Mr. Burroughs' letters dated
November 30, 1995, and January 2 and January 18, 1996, and with a letter dated February I, 1996, from
Mr. Clifford R. Brockman, P.E., Vice President, Drexel Barrell. All fees necessary to process this
LOMR, a total of $2,490, have been received.

We have completed our review of the submitted data and the flood data shown on the effective FIRM,
and have revised the FIRM to modify the elevations and floodplain boundary delineations of a flood
having a I-percent chance of being equaled or exceeded in any given year (base flood) along
Drainageway A and Drainageway A-I. The revised reach extends from just upstream of the intersection
of Jefferson Avenue and Griffith Street to approximately 150 feet upstream of the Garfield Avenue
crossing of Goodhue Ditch, The revised hydrologic and hydraulic analyses reveal that the flow splits
around an area of high ground just downstream of Garfield Avenue. The split flow follows Garfield
Avenue to the intersection of Garfield A venue and Griffith Street.
