We directed the Engineer to use
existing basin hydrology which was computed by FEMA in 1976. The
SCS completed basin hydrolo~' studies on Lone Tree Creek and
upper spring Creek in the 1980's which better considere~ existing
basin conditions and flow characteristics.

The Town expenditure for flood control will be considerable,
therefore, it is in our best interest to have updated hydrologic
values when designing the flood control project. We understand
that the Board coordinates the floodplain management studies for
State and Federal programs. It is important that this study
request receive priority in FY 90 so we can direct our Engineer
in the performance of our engineering contract.

Should you desire, the Town representative and Engineer will be
happy to discuss this request with you.

Sincerely,

p:;z~

Rawnond Van Why, Mayor Y

cc: Mike Ketterling, F.E.; Norton, Underwood & L~, Inc.
Don Sandoval, DOLA
Larry Lang, CWCB

RVW/je
