<br />. <br /> <br />. <br /> <br />. <br /> <br />National Monument were reserved for National Monument purposes on <br />December 19, 1919, by Presidential Proclamation 1549, 41 Stat. 1781. <br />When these lands were reserved, the unappropriated waters in and on <br />said lands were withdrawn from private appropriation as against the <br />United States and were reserved by the United States to the extent <br />necessary for the requirements and purposes of said reservation. <br /> <br />VI. <br /> <br />The Hovenweep National Nonument. is owned by the United <br />States and located within the watershed of the San Juan River and its <br />tributaries in the State of Colorado. The lands comprising this <br />National Monument were reserved for National Nonument purposes on <br />March 2, 1928, by Presidential Proclamation No. 1654, 42 Stat. 2299. <br />\1hen these lands were reserved, the unappropriated waters in and on <br />said lands were withdrawn from private appropriation as against the <br />United States and were reserved for the use by the United States to <br />the extent necessary for the requirements and purposes of said res- <br />ervation. <br /> <br />VII. <br /> <br />The United States owns certain lands within the watersheds <br />of the Mancos, La Plata, Animas, Florida, Los Pinos (Pine), Piedra, <br />Navajo, and San Juan Rivers and their tributaries in the State of <br />Colorado, which are administered by the Bureau of Land Management in <br />accordance with Executive Orders, Acts of Congress, and rules and <br />regulations promulgated by the Secretary of the Interior. The United <br />States claims the right to the use of waters on these lands to the <br />extent these waters have been used with priority dates as of the dates <br />of initiation of the various uses. <br /> <br />VIII. <br /> <br />The United States claims reserved water rights in and to <br />public waterholes and springs located within the watersheds of the <br />Mancos, La Plata, Animas, Florida, Los Pinos (Pine), Piedra, Navajo, <br />and San Juan Rivers and their tributaries in the State of Colorado, <br />which were reserved for public watering purposes on April 17, 1926, <br />pursuant to the Act of December 29, 1916, 39 Stat. 865, as amended. <br /> <br />IX. <br /> <br />The United States claims a right to the use of waters in hot <br /> <br />-3- <br /> <br />..~_..,.""..,..,_n,,,.< <br /> <br />I'" <br />
