Berry - The Berrys live between Bill Creek and San Miguel Creek <br /> <br />in the Frijole Creek basin, The Berrys had a dry water tank 22-inches <br /> <br /> <br />deep in the pasture. In the morning, approximately 10 hours after the <br /> <br />storm, Mr. Berry measured a water depth of 11 inches in the tank, The <br /> <br /> <br />tank had a hole in it and some of the water had run out. The Berrys <br /> <br />report that the storm lasted for about 4 or 5 hours, During the in- <br /> <br /> <br />spection of July 9, the tank had drained and was empty, Later, when the <br /> <br />tank Was refilled to measure the rate of loss through the hole, the hole <br /> <br /> <br />sealed and there was no loss of water. In constructing the isohyetal a <br /> <br />depth of 12 inches was used for this location which is probably less <br /> <br /> <br />than the actual rainfall that occurred. <br /> <br />E. Hance - The Hance residence was on Frijole Hill, or the north- <br /> <br /> <br />ern ridge above Frijole Creek, Mr. Hance reported that a dry water tank <br /> <br />had filled 8 inches during the storm. The rain started at that location <br /> <br /> <br />around 10:00 p.m., was heavy when he observed it at 11:00 and midnight. <br /> <br /> <br />He estimated that it stopped raining sometime around 3:00 a.m, He <br /> <br /> <br />reported the rainfall,was coming from the southeast. <br /> <br />F. Trinidad Airport - Total rainfall at the Trinidad Airport for <br />July 2 prior to midnight was 0.15 inches. The total for the storm prior <br />to 4:55 a.m. on July 3 was 3.66 inches. <br /> <br />A-2 <br />
