<br />Margita Ramirezdoesn't hate the police.
<br />She is sorry her son shot a police officer.
<br />But, she asks, who cares that she has lost
<br />a son?, Her son is Juan Mendez, the 17-
<br />y~-old boy w!1o threatened a man taking
<br />his nephew to school; who shot Mike King,
<br />a 13-year veteran of the Greeley Police De-
<br />partment; who shot at other police officers;
<br />who wouldn't be taken alive.
<br />'They wanted to get even and show that
<br />
<br />they weren't 'going to let this kid baCk in
<br />Greeley," said Ramirez. who said she' was '
<br />most upset because police wouldn't talk to
<br />her about the incident.
<br />Six Greeley police officers involved in
