<br />, <br />, <br /> <br />Protection works to protect the Government and wl11 furnish a certificate <br />from its attorney that the property interests held by the District are <br />sufficient to protect the Government ln entering upon and constructing such <br />Project. <br />2. The District hereby gives the Government a right to enter, at . <br />reasonable times and in a reasonable manner, upon lands which the District <br />~.ns or controls, for access to the Project for the purpose of inspection, <br />and for the purpose of completing, repairing and maintaining the Project, <br />if such inspection shows that. the District for any reason is failing to <br />repair and maintain the Project in accordance with the assurances hereunder <br />and has persisted in such failure after a reasonable notice in writing by <br />the Government delivered to the Chairman of the Board of Directors or the <br />Secretary of the District. No repair and maintenance by the Government in <br />such event shall operate to relieve the District of responsibility to r.~et <br />its obligations as set forth in paragraph 1 of this Agreement, or to pre- <br />clude the Government from pursuing any other remedy at law or equity. <br />3. The District promises to comply with the Relocation Assistance <br />Act; and without 1imiting the generality of the foregoing. promises: <br />a. Payments and services required by Sections 210 and 305 of the <br />Act, as implemented by regulations prescribed by or under the authority of <br />the Secretary of the Army, will be provided; <br />b. Within a reasonable time prior to displacement, decent, safe <br />and sanitary dwellings will be made available to displaced persons in accor- <br />dance with standards established by regulations prescribed by or under the <br />authority of the Secretary of the Army; <br />c. In acquiring real property, the District will be guided to the <br />greatest extent practicable by the land acquisition policies in Sections <br />301 and 302 of the Relocation Assistance Act; and property owners will be <br />paid or reimbursed for necessary expenses as specified in Sections 303 and <br />304 of the Act; all as implemented by regulations prescribed by or under <br />the authority of the Secretary of the Army; and <br />d. The District will furnish an annual report on its activities <br />with respect to the programs and policies established or authorized by the <br />Act to facilitate compliance with the reporting requirement contained in <br />Section 214 thereof. <br /> <br />. <br />
