<br />. <br /> <br />. <br /> <br />. <br /> <br />FPR 94-357 <br /> <br />COLORADO WATER CONSERVATION BOARD <br />721 State Centennial Building <br />1313 Sherman Street <br />Denver, Colorado 80203 <br /> <br />May 26, 1994 <br />RESOLUTION <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Albuquerque prepared a floodplain information <br />report entitled "Flood Plain Information, Purglltoire River & Tributaries, Vicinity of Trinidad, <br />Colorado"; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, said floodplain information report includes detailed floodplain information for the <br />reach of Raton Creek within the corporate limits of the Town of Starkville; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the Colorado Water Conservation Board, by Resolution No. 43, adopted on <br />FebrUary 26, 1974, designated and approved the floodplains described in said report; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the U.S. Department of Housil1g and Urban Development prepared an approximate <br />floodplain information map entitled Flood Hazard Boundary Map, Town of Starkville, Colorado, Las <br />Animas County, dated 1/23/76 and hereby referenced as Index No. 94-357.01; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, said Flood Hazard Boundary Map for the Town of Starkville has not been <br />designated and approved by the Colorado Water Conservation Board; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, said Flood Hazard Boundary Map is the effective floodplain information for the <br />Town of Starkville for the purposes of the National Flood Insurance Program; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, said Flood Hazard Boundary Map for the Town of Starkville is inconsistent with <br />said detailed floodplain information included in Resolution No. 43; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the Federal Emergency Management Agency has not corrected the inconsistency <br />between the said Flood Hazard Boundary Map for the Town of Starkville and the floodplain information <br />included in Resolution No. 43; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the flood of May 19, 1955 caused severe damage in the Town of Starkville; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, there is a need to have accurate floodplain information to guide land use and <br />permitting decisions in the Town of Starkville; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the U.S. Department of Housil1g and Urban Development prepared an approximate <br />floodplain information map entitled Flood Hazard Boundary Map, Town of Gilcrest, Colorado, Weld <br />County, dated 10/31/78 and hereby referenced as lndex No. 94-357.02; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the said Flood Hazard Boundary Map for the Town of Gilcrest identified as <br />floodprone areas that are beyond any I DO-year floodplain and that have been determined to be iocalized <br />stormwater drainage problem areas; and <br /> <br />-- <br />
