Multiple Use. The master planning of the waterways will be done
in a manner compatible with the following multiple, uses and auxiliary
benefits.

I
I
I
I
I
I
I
I

a. Greenbelt and urban open space,
b. Lowered groundwater table.
c. Controlled rising groundwater table after urbanization.
d. Reduced street maintenance costs.
e. Reduced street construction costs.
f. Improved movement of traffic.
g. Improved publ ic health envi ronment.
h. Lower cost open space.
i. Improved quality of classified streams.
k. Opportunities for close in solid waste disposal sites.
1. Development of otherwise undevelopable land.
m. Opportunities for lower building construction cost.
n. Opportunities for creatIng new water supplies.

16. Existinq Utility Conflicts. UtilitIes other than sanitary sewers
will be relocated as needed. Sanitary sewer conflicts will be resolved
on an individual basis in final design. Utilities will be shown in ap-
proximate locations on master plans. Utility field surveys wIll be re-
quired prior to flnal design.

All available utilities information, as supplied by the City of Boulder,
has been plotted on the drawings to indicate conflicts, relocations, etc
Water lines have only been indIcated if they are 12" or larger, or if they
represent a major confl ict.

17. Exlstinq Water Riqhts. Existing water rights will be protected as ap-
propriate, including surface diversions and underground seepage lines.
Diversion dams to be bui It in channels as needed..

I
I
,I
II

18. Initial Drainaqe System. The storm sewers and other features of the
initial storm runoff system will be planned and constructed so as to
not significantly change the drainage basins as shown in Chapter IV
of thi s Report.

19. Frontaqe Roads. Road relocation will be made in some instances to obvIate
construction of extra bridges.

I
I
