Dr. John Liou/Larry Lan, ,en Brugh/Phillip Boawn
Quss Sections for Oak Q-eek LMMP in Florence, C( lorado
P"ge2

Aj,so, upstream of the railroad, flow will split to t'le west aad spill over the railroad west of
~Ianide A venue. TIlis flow is hydraulically disconne :ted from the main chaanel iUld is outside the
city limits; thus, the resulting floodplain will not be d :lim~ated. However, the amount of flow will
be quaatified aad the flow in the main channel reduce, 'l by that amount

Maaning's Roughness value for the main channel is < stimated to be 0.040. The Roughness values
for the overbank are,ag range from 0.030 to 0.150. l.he 0.150 value~ is proposed to be used in the
urbanized areas.

Please note that the mapping at the upstream end of he study is less thaa desirable. If any better
mapping of the area exists, it would be advantageou to have it made available for delineation of
the: floodplain.

We would appreciate: your responding to us by April 20, 1992 with your commems regarding the
orlentation and location of the cross sections. If t ere are substantial comments on the cross
se,;tions, a meeting would be helpful so that aa agree ent can be re:ached by all parties. Once aa
agreement has been reached, we will proceed wit 'I the~ hydraulic aaalysis. If you have any
questions. please do not hesitate to call.

Sincere, :y,
L0VE ,'~ ASSOCIA TI7~S, lfC.
" \ 1 i
-!-~;?YP ~>Vtl(
David J Lov~, P.3

D.lL:jg
enclosures

cc: Phillip Boawn, U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, A I.buquerque
