The Oak CI'eek study limits
for this aaalysis exte:nd from its confluence with the, rkansas River to the irrigation ditch crossing
of Oak Creek upstream of the Denver and Rio Grand Western (D&RGW) Railrowi.

Tile attached maps show the location and orientation of the cross sections we pro:pose to use in the
hydraulic analysis. We currently do not have suffici :nt mapping at the downstream end to extend
east of Maple A venne. Ken Brugh is trying to obtaiJ detailed mapping for this area. Downstream
of the D&RGW Railroad, the floodplain is hydrauli( lly connected; thus, no split flow model will
bl: used in this area., The bridge crossings for 2nd, tree:!, 3rd SIIe.et, and the D&RGW Railroad
will be included in the HEC-2 model. The followin ,; is a description of the hydraulic analysis we
propose for Oak Cre:ek (see Figure 1).

Tile D&RGW Railroad crossing is a barrier to flow i the main channel. A portion of the flow will
b,: conveyed thtough the bridge opening and will sp' lover the raib:oad at the bridge aad a portion
Vlill split east along the railroad. The split flow conti lues east along the railroad to the low point in
the tracks at Frazier A venue. Flow will spill over the railroad continuously along tlris alignment.

At the irrigation ditch crossing, at the upstream stud) limit, a portion of the flow will split from the
main channel and flow east along the irrigation ditch alignment. 'nus flow returns in the split flow
reach upstream of the D&RGW Railroad.
