This
study concerns Cedar Creek, Montrose Arroyo, and Dry Cedar Crel~k and
the City and County of Montrose.

I. Hydrology

Hydrologic analysis is completed and has been accepted by the
Colorado Water Conservation Board (CWCB) and the City and County of
Montrose. Overall basin analysis was based on the SCS procedure,
accounting for snowmelt impact. Regarding internal drainage within the
urbanized area of Montrose, the Rational Formula was employed, using
t ime-i ntensity-frequency rel ati onships dE!veloped for the SCS analysis.

The hydrology analysis is presented in the Hydrologic Technical
Addendum to the Montrose Floodplain Definition and Urban Drainage
Study.

II. Hydraul i cs

The basic hydraulics and analysis al'e complete, and the majority
has been accepted by the CWCB. The comp'leted port'ion includes the
backwater ana lys i s for the three st reams with in the study area,
including through the City of Montrose. Flow spl it locations have been
identified and quantified.

Sixteen drainage problem locations wer'e ident'ified by the City of
Montrose. These have been analyzed based on the Rational Formula and
conceptual solutions identified.

The portion of the hydraulics analysis not yet completed is a
definition of the intervening basins within the urbanized area, between
the basins directly tributary to the 16 problem locat'ions. A tabula-
tion of flows emanating from these additional basins will be prepared
for use with the proposed Montrose Mastm' Orai nage Study.

LAKEWOOD, COLORADO 80226

PHONE 303,9342~ 77
