<br />FLOODED ARE~\2. <br /> <br />The 100-year floodplains for Kiowa Creek have been removed <br />from the corporate limits of the Town of Wiggins and for all <br />the areas to the lands ide of the Kiowa Creek Flood Protection <br />"levee" Project. A small 100-year floodplain from an interior <br />ponding area exists upstream of the Burlington Northern <br />Railroad at the 72 inch crossing. The limits of this 100-year <br />floodplain ponding area have been delineated on the plate <br />entitled "Flooded Area Map". The Flooded Area Map shows the <br />ground elevations by cross sectional surveys. <br /> <br />The 100-year water surface elevation has been determined <br />and is stated on said map. The Federal Emergency Management <br />Agency (FEMA) has acknowledged this residual 100-year <br />floodplain by letter dated December 5. 1989. which is herein <br />designated as Exhibit 3. A 100-year flood profile is not <br />required for the ponding area due to a constant level of the <br />water surface elevation of the ponding area during a IOO-year <br />flood event. The water surface elevation for the ponding area <br />is 4542.8 MSL. <br /> <br />The 100-year floodplain information for Kiowa Creek is <br />shown on sheets 1 and 2. These 100-year floodplains have been <br />determined with the Kiowa Creek Flood Protection Project <br />operational. These floodplains lie beyond the corporate limits <br />of the Town of Wiggins and are solely within Morgan County. <br />Colorado. By letter dated February 17. 1987, Morgan County has <br />acknowledged that certain county lands are within the Kiowa <br />Creek floodplain. See Exhibit 5. <br /> <br />-10-- <br />
