Several pocket parks are recommended in this section, including Watson
Lake, and at focal points such as Lee Gulch, the Riverfront Development and
the Riverwalk Development. The entire reach is planned to be developed as
a linear park with a continuous trail running on the river's east side
until crossing via a new pedestrian bridge near Bowles to the west side.
Tributary trail connections are suggested along Lee Gulch and Big Dry
Creek.

The Corps of Engineers is currently channelizing this section of the river,
and existing vegetation is being stripped. In order to provide for a
conti nuous ri pari an wi 1 dl i fe corri dor with an aesthet i c character,
attent ion shoul d be given to revegetati ng both ri verbanks wi th i ndi genous
species at the earliest possible opportunity. In focal point parks which
are natural in character, opportunities may exist for developing additional
wetland areas as native wildlife habitats.
