<br />. S.A.{8)(c) Class III dams shall have the following Instrumen- <br />tation: <br /> <br />S.A.{8)(c)(I) Gage rods as described in Ru1. S.A.(8)(a) <br />above; and <br /> <br />S.A.(8){c)(ll) Seepage weirs or flumes to allow IIOnitoring <br />. of leakage through the embankment or foundation. <br /> <br />S.A.(8)(d) Class IV dams will not require instrumentation. <br /> <br />S.A.(9) A detailed cost estimate of the construction of the dam <br />including the engineering fees. The cost estimate will r..ain <br />confidential until after the construction contract Is executed. <br /> <br />S.A.{IO) A filing fee.of $2.00 per $1,000 (or fraction thereof) <br />of the cost estimate, limited to a maximum of $200.00. ' (See R\lle <br />17.) <br /> <br />Rule 6. Reouil"Ql1lQnts for Alteration. Modification. Dr Renai,. of an <br />~xistlno Dam Which will Affect the Safetv of the Structure. . <br /> <br />Rule 6.A. An owner proposing to alter, modify, or repair a dam <br />shall submit an application package in a fonn acceptable to the State <br />Engineer and receive approval of the construction plans and <br />speCifications from the State Engineer prior to construction. The <br />provisions of Rule 6 shall apply to such application only to the <br />extent they directly relate to the activity for which approval Is <br />bei ng sought. <br /> <br />6.A.(I) The requirements of Rule S.A.(I), 5.A.(2), S.A.{3), <br />S.A.(9), and S.A.{10) shall apply except as modified by Rules 6.A.{2) <br />and 6.A.(3). The requirements of Rules S.A.{S) {Hydrology Report), <br />S.A. (6) (Geotechnical Report).- S.A. (7) (Design Report), S.A. (8) <br />(Instrumentation) apply only where they are needed to support the <br />application. <br /> <br />6.A.(2) Plans for the repair of a dam, or alteration of Class I <br />or Class II dams to nonjurisdictional size may be approved by the <br />State Engineer by leUer in lieu of the formal plans procedure per <br />Rule S.A.{2) and S.A.{3) subject to the following conditions: <br /> <br />- 26 . <br />
