It is our
understanding that the Colorado Water Conservation Board has requested
information with regard to the Corps capability to proceed with Phase
2 engineering and design work on the project during FY 83.

As local sponsor of this project, The Fountain Creek Commission
has a very strong interest in the funding for this work. The project
enjoys a very high level of local support as demonstrated by the fact
that already $1,669,000 through 1980 have been spent for land acquisition,
relocations, some preliminary levy construction and recreational facilities.

In view of this interest, it would be appreciated if you would send
me copies of your answer to the Colorado Water Conservation Board with
regard to the Corps capability of additional work on this project.

Sincerely,

~~"b? --r:-
/ti~,-//~
D.
