The first important fact about the flood
insurance rates for the study area is that
structures built before August 24, 1973 pay
different rates than structures built after August
24, 1973. That is the date of Pueblo's entry into
the Regular Phase of the National Flood Insurance
Program, and it coincides with the effective date
of the city's first Flood Insurance Rate Map.
According to NFIP regulations, any structures built
before that date can buy flood insurance at
subsidized rates rather than at actuarial rates.
The following chart briefly summarizes the
presently available limits of coverage and the
appropriate premium rates:

U.S. DEPAIm4ENl' <F WJSJ:N} l\ND URBAN IE\lJilDPMENl'
FEDEAAL INSURANCE AtMINISTRATICN
NATICNAL FUXD INSURANCE PRJGRAM
First Layer Subs.
