<br />State Assistance to the City of Pueblo Regarding the <br />Fountain Creek Floodplain <br /> <br />Introduction <br /> <br />The information in this report was developed at the request <br />of Pueblo Action, Inc. Pueblo Action, Inc. is a Community Action <br />Agency and a delegate agency of the City of Pueblo. <br /> <br />The Colorado Water Conservation Board is the state agency <br />charged under Section 37-60-l06(1), Colorado Revised Statutes, <br />1973, with assisting local governments in the prevention of flood <br />damages. The specific flood-related areas of assistnce are: <br /> <br />o Flood Control Studies and Projects <br />o Floodplain Information and Drainage Studies <br />o Flood Data Collection <br />o Flood Insurance <br />o Technical Services for Floodplain Management <br /> <br />Purpose <br /> <br />This report was prepared to assist Pueblo officials in <br />understanding and implementation of a special flood insurance <br />program for property owners in the Fountain Creek floodplain. <br /> <br />In addition to preparing a depth of flooding map, Water <br />Conservation Board staff conducted a review of base lOO-year <br />floodplain information and supporting data which have been <br />prepared by the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers and the Federal <br />Emergency Management Agency.
