Lang <br /> <br />DATE: <br /> <br />January 26, 1982 <br /> <br />SUBJECT: Corps of Engineers, Albuquerque Districts <br />Activities in Colorado on the Arkansas <br />River Basin <br /> <br />The following study activities and projects were discussed <br />with Messrs. Mike Mocek, Pueblo Regional Office Manager; and <br />Scott Parker, Chief, Program Management, Albuquerque District <br />Office, on January 11th in Denver. <br /> <br />Florence, Colorado - A Phase I Project formulated analysis-- <br />started October, 1980, scheduled for completion Spring, <br />1983. <br /> <br />La Junta, Colorado - A study Investigation--project feasibility- <br />started December, 1981, scheduled for completion Summer, <br />1984. <br /> <br />Lamar, Colorado - A Study Investigation--Flood Control on <br />Arkansas River and Water Supply and Flood Control Dam <br />on Willow Creek, started FY 82, a four-year study project. <br /> <br />Granada, Colorado - Section 205 Flood Control Project completed <br />in Summer, 1980. <br /> <br />Holly, Colorado - Section 205 Flood Control Project completed <br />in February, 1981. <br /> <br />Trinidad Dam and Reservoir - AfteF completion of the Project, <br />the Corps hydrologists changed the PMF design rainfall <br />values resulting in large discharges. This fact resulted <br />in an increased spillway requirement with a 2-year funding <br />of $3,500,000 for FY 82 and FY 83. <br /> <br />Las Animas, Colorado - A Section 201 Flood Control Project which <br />received special congressional considerations during autho- <br />rization and funding was completed in 1977 at a cost of <br />$lO,OOO,OOO. <br />
