LAYOUT OF WORK: The Contractor shall layout his work from Government <br />established base lines and bench marks indicated on the drawings and shall be <br />responsible for all measurements in connection therewith. The Contractor <br />shall fu1'nish, at his own expense, all stakes., templates, platforms, equip- <br />ment, tools and materials and labor as may be required in laying out any part <br />of the work from the base lines and bench marks established by the <br />Government. The Contractor will be held responsible for the execution of the <br />work to such lines and grades as may be established or indicated by the <br />Contracting Officer. It shall be the responsibility of the Contractor to <br />maintain and preserve all stakes and other marks established by the Con- <br />tracting Officer until authorized to remoVe them. If such marks are <br />destroyed by the Contractor or through his negligence, prior to their <br />authorized removal, they may be replaced by the Contracting Officer at his <br />discretion. The expense of replacement will be deducted from any amounts due <br />or to become due the Contractor. QUANTITY SURVEYS: <br /> <br />7.1 The Contractor shall make such surveys and computations as are neces- <br />sary to determine the quantities of work performed or placed during each <br />period for which a progress payment is to be made. The Contractor shall also <br />make original and final surveys. The Government will make such computations <br />s are necessary to verify the quantities of work performed or finally in <br />place. Unless waived by the Contracting Officer in each specific case, <br />quantity surveys made by the Contractor shall be made under the direction of <br />a representative of the Contracting Officer. <br /> <br />7.2 All original field notes, computations and other records of the <br />Contractor for the purposes of layout, original, progress and final surveys <br />shall be recorded in duplicating field books, the original pages of which <br />shall be furnished promptly in ring binders to the representative of the <br />Contracting Officer at the site of the work and shall be used by the <br />Contracting Officer to the extent necessary in determining the proper amounts <br />of progress and final payments. <br /> <br />8. CERTIFICATES OF COMPLIANCE: Any certificates required for demonstra- <br />ting proof of compliance of materials with specification requirements shall <br />be signed by an official authorized to certify in behalf of the manufacturing <br />company and shall contain the name and address of the Contractor, the project <br />name and location, and the quantity and date 01' dates of shipment or delivery <br />to which the certificates apply. . <br /> <br />lA-8 <br /> <br />. <br /> <br />, <br /> <br />, <br /> <br />. <br />
