<br />'fable 2 <br />Detailed Floodplain Delineations within the Town of Basalt <br /> <br />( <br /> <br />I Fryingpan River <br />Roanng Fork River <br /> <br />; and <br /> <br />FLOODPLAIN CONSISTENCY <br />WHEREAS, the floodplain information contained in said report with included map is <br />consistent with the floodplain information contained in Resolution Numbers 65 and \OS (Table I, <br />Ref. Nos. I and 2); and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, a more current Flood Insurance Study for the Town of Basalt was completed <br />and published by FEMA on June 4, 1987, and later designated by the Colorado Water Conservation <br />Board (Resolution No. 283, Table I Ref. No.4); and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the detailed floodplain delineations contained in said report, with included <br />map, for the Fryingpan River are consistellt with the floodplain delineations contained in <br />Resolution No. 283 (Table I, Ref. No, 4); and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the detailed floodplain delineations contained in said report with included map <br />for the Roaring Fork River are not consistent with the floodplain delineations contained in <br />Resolution No. 283 (Table I, Ref. No.4) due to floodplain revisions on the Roaring Fork River <br />published in Resolution No. 283; and <br /> <br />l <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the floodplain informatiOll contained in Resolution No. 283 supersedes said <br />report dated September 1979 with included mapS dated March 18, 1980 and should be utilized by <br />the Town ofBasaIt for floodplain management and flood insurance purposes until such time that a <br />more current and accurate floodplain information report is available; and <br /> <br />C.R.S. AUTHORITY <br />WHEREAS, Section 37-60-106(1)(c), Colorado Revised Statutes, requires the Colorado <br />Water Conservation Board to assist in the prevention of floods and flood damages therefrom; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, Sections 31-23-301 and 30-28-111, Colorado Revised Statutes, provide that <br />legislative bodies of local jurisdictions may provide zoning regulations for larId uses on or along <br />any storm or floodwater runoff channel or basin only after designation arId approval by the <br />Colorado Water Conservation Board; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, Section 37-60-\06(1)(c), Colorado Revised Statutes, directs the Colorado <br />Water Conservation Board to designate and approve storm or floodwater runoff channels or basins <br />and to make such designations available to legislative bodies of local jurisdictions; and <br /> <br />2 <br />
