<br />-0, <br /> <br />) <br /> <br />WHEREAS, Section 37-60-106(1) (c), colora<lo' Revised <br />Statutes, requires the. Colora<lo Water conservation Board to <br />assist in the prevention of floods and flood damages therefrom; <br />and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, sections 31-23-301 and 30-28-111, Colorado Revised <br />Statutes, provide that such legislative bodies of local <br />jurisdictions may provide zoning regulations for ~and uses' on <br />or along any storm or floodwater runoff channel Ot basin only <br />after designation and approval by the Colorado Water <br />conservation Board; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, Section 37-60-106(1) (c), Colora<lo Revised <br />Statutes, directs the coloraqo Water Conservation Board to <br />designate and. approve storm Or floodwater. runoff channels or <br />basins and to make such designations available to legislative <br />bodies of local jurisdictions; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the staff of the Board has reviewed said <br />information and data and does hereby recommend to the Colorado <br />Water Conservation Board that the Board designate 'and approve <br />as floodplain areas those area.s inundated by a 100-year flood <br />(intermediate regional flood) as described'by the' floodwater <br />surface elevations and profile,s in said Flood Insurance. Study <br />for those stream reaches listed in Tables 2 and 3, and further <br />recommends that the Board def?;ignate and approve. as stoTm or <br />floodwater runoff channels or basins those areas delineated as <br />Zone A in'said Flood' Insurance Study as listed in Table 4, <br />and further recommends that the floodplain designations or <br />specific portions thereof, 'as set forth. in Table 2, be <br />rescinded: <br /> <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ~ESOLVED by the Colorado Water <br />Conservation Board in regular meeting assembled in Denver <br />Colorado, this 18th day of November, 198 6~ tha tit does hereby <br />designate and approve as floodplain areas those areas described <br />as being inundated by the 100-year flood as desctibed by the <br />floodwater surface elevations and profiles in said. Flood <br />Insurance Study that were listed in Tables 2 and 3 and does <br />hereby rescind those portions of Resolution Nos. 16, 27, 30, <br />36, 42, and 91 lis ted in Table 2, and des igna ted on the dates <br />shown in said Table 2; and <br /> <br />BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Board does hereby designate <br />and approve as storm or floodwater runoff channels or basins <br />those areas delineated as Zon~ A in said Flood InSurance Study <br />as listed in Table 4, contingent upon the understanding that <br />the City of Colorado springs will regulate the storm and <br />floodwater runoff channels (Zone A) on. a case-by-case basis <br />subject to a detailed hydrologic and hydraulic analysis by a <br />professional engineer; and <br /> <br />) <br />, <br /> <br />-3- <br />
