HO\vever, in view of Boone's <br />severe shortage of recreational facilities <br />for both active and passive uses, the <br />preferred option quickly centered <br />around developing an open space park. <br />The resulting Master Plan calls for a <br />regional. multi-purpose park with a <br />flood-resistant pavilion for concerts and <br />festivals: flood-resistant restrooms; and <br />facilities to support softball, soccer, <br />biking, picnics, and many othe <br />activities.
