<br />FPR 97.459 <br />City of Empire <br /> <br />COLORADO WATER CONSERVATION BOARD <br />721 State Centennial Building <br />1313 Sherman Street <br />Denver, Colorado 80203 <br /> <br />July 21. 1997 <br /> <br />RESOLUTION <br /> <br />STUDY TO BE DESIGNATED <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the Federal Insurance Administration completed a floodplain information <br />report entitled "Flood Insurance Study, City of Empire, Clear Creek County, Colorado" dated June <br />1976; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, said report includes detailed hydrology and floodplain delineations for West <br />Fork Clear Creek, Lion Creek, and Bard Creek, within the incorporated portions of Empire, as they <br />were on June 1976; and <br /> <br />FLOODPLAIN CONSISTENCY <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the detailed floodplain information contained in said report is reasonably <br />consistent with the approximate information contained in the "Flood Insurance Rate Map, Clear <br />Creek County, Colorado, Unincorporated Areas," dated March II, 1980; and <br /> <br />LOCAL REQUEST FOR DESIGNATION <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the City of Empire, Colorlldo has been notified of the Colorado Water <br />Conservation Board's initiative to designate and Ilpprove the floodplain information contained in <br />said report; and <br /> <br />C.R.s AUTHORITY <br /> <br />WHEREAS, Section 37-60-106(l)(c), Colorado Revised Statutes, requires the Colorado <br />Water Conservation Board to assist in the prevention of floods and flood damages therefrom; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, Sections 31-23-301 and 30-28-111, Colorado Revised Statutes, provide that <br />legislative bodies of local jurisdictions may provide zoning regulations for land uses on or along <br />any storrn or floodwater runoff channel or basin only after designation and approval by the <br />Colorado Water Conservation Board; and <br />
