Width of each bridge is 38 feet
. Older timber bridge would be replaced
. 20' x 8' RCBs would be added to the southbound bridge as an alternative to widening the
bridge

· Roadillriveway DepressiolBs
. 24' wide non-paved road section
. Maximum grade 5 %
. low flow culverts
. Surface hardening along channel bottom

. Land Acquisition for Levees
. Assume 5 feet beyond the toe of the levee (both sides) to determine required right-of-way.
. Assume fee simple property acquisition for lan,d under levees/channels
. Assume flow easement lor land between levees if land can still be farmed

Using the conceptual design, an estimate of consuuction quantities was prepared for the proposed
improvements. These quantities were tabulated and assigned a unit cost, and a construction cost was
determined. Unit costs were derived from values published by FEi\1A (G.2 Numeric Cost Code
Listing for Region 8). Where needed, the published rah:s were supplemented and altered to reflect
local conditions with additional unit prices derived from actual bid tabulations for similar work as
published by the Urban Drainage and Flood Control District. Primary unit costs for each item are
presented in the following table.

III-26
