We ha.ve determined that $1,000 per <br />year is a reasonable estimat,e of annual maintenance. Improvements are designed for the 100- <br />year frequency flood. This area was subjected to a. flood in 1997 that is estimated to have been <br />approximately a 75- to 80-year flood at th,: soutllem end of the City of Sterling. Estimated <br />damage from this flood is in excess of $10 million. The proposed project will be designed to <br />prevent darnage from the IOO-year flood. The value of property to be protected by the proposed project is approximately <br />$118,650,000. <br /> <br />National Flood Insurance Progranl <br /> <br />The proposed project is located in the City of Sterling and Logan County which are participants <br />in the NFIP. Both are in compliance with the NFlP (please ref,:r to Section IV Attachments, <br />Tab 3 for letters of compliance). The project is in a designated FEMA floodplain (reproduced <br />composite of the drawing may be found in the back flap pocket of this submittal).
