,

PARSONS

Memorandum To Larry Lang
April 2, 2003
Page 3

within this definition. In general, A W A appears to have complied with this request.
Note in several places that they use the phrase, "not possible," when addressing some of
the orientation and other aspects.

Sensitivity analyses were scoped under Task 3. Though stressed less in the final
report than in Interim Report #2, I have reached the "gut" conclusion that reasonable care
was applied in evaluating the "possible" combinations of factors that produce severe
storms. Several of the recommendations regarding the prime differences between the two
studies reflect an awareness of the sensitivity ofthe parameters and a prudent adoption of
the worst-case.possible combinations.

In my last report, I noted that it would be helpful to the reader if A W A would contrast
their findings and recommendations on various aspects with the NWS SSPMP analysis of
the same parameter. I was pleased to see that this was done, and effectively so, in
Section 9.

As noted above, I had a number of other comments marked in the margins of my copy,
but I think the appropriate means to relay them to you is to provide a copy of the markup,
and perhaps discuss them in a group context.
