<br />Monday Afternoon <br /> <br />e <br /> <br />The afternoon features two sets of concurrent workshops that address current hazards issues. Sessions will <br />be held in breakout rooms (Flagstaff, Canyon, Sugarloaf, Trail Ridge, and Sunshine) on Level 2, as well as in Suite <br />431 (Level 4, South Wing) and the Millennium Room 00 Levell. Please consult your agenda and hotel map for <br />specific locations, <br /> <br />Moderators, discussaots, and recorders have been selected for each session, The moderator will preside <br />over the session, introduce the issue and discussants, and maintain the pace to ensure sufficient time for audience <br />participation. Discussants are expected to draw upon their research and/or practical experience to address the topic <br />in question. The recorder will distill the discussion into a one-page summary to be given to center staff or placed in <br />the recorders' sununary box in the Century Room prior to the end of the workshop. The collection of session <br />summaries will be mailed to all workshop registrants fonowing the meeting and will also be posted in full text on <br />the center's World Wide Web. site. <br /> <br />The numbers in parentheses beside the discussants' names on the agenda refer to abstracts, submitted in <br />advance, that are included in this workshop notebook (white and blue pages). <br /> <br />Monday Evening <br /> <br />All workshop participants. are invited to be our guest at our 2S" Anniversary Party from 6:00-8:00 p.m. <br />under the Pavilion on the hotel grounds east of the tennis courts. Come and enjoy the food and drink, the music, the <br />camaraderie, and a very brief program to celebrate the hazard community's last quarter century of work, <br /> <br />e <br /> <br />Tuesday Morning <br /> <br />Early on Tuesday morning, all people interested in health care research and disasters are invited to a round <br />table discussion in Suite 331 (Level 3, South Wing), from 7:00-8: IS a.m. JoAnne McGlown of Jacksonville State <br />University is the convener. <br /> <br />Coffee will be available in the Sunshine Room at 7:4S a.m., again compliments offfiM, and the workshop <br />itself will begin at 8:30 a.m. The first plenary session will focus on disasters, diversity, and equity. After a break, the <br />morning's second plenary will feature reports on progress made by various organizations implementing the <br />recommendations made by the "Second Assessment of Natural Hazards Research and Applications," completed by <br />the center last year. All speakers have been asked to limit their remarks to three minutes. Help the moderator keep <br />them honest! <br /> <br />Tuesday Afternoon <br /> <br />The Tuesday afternoon program follows the Monday format with two sets of concurrent workshops. Duties <br />of the moderators, discussants, and recorders will be the same as those described for Monday afternoon. Sessions <br />will be held in breakout rooms on Levels I and 2. Please consult your agenda and hotel map for locations. <br /> <br />Tuesday Evening Barbecue <br /> <br />Buses to the barbecue (which will be held at Tom Watson Park, a IS-minute drive north and east of <br />Boulder) will begin boarding at S:4S p.m. in front of the Regal Harvest House. <br /> <br />e <br />
