There will be a takeout for boaters on the left bank. The line of rOCKS
should not create II 'keeper' problem downstrellm of them. They should 1I1so not
cause an increase In depths during higher flows. A 404 permit will probably be
required. Ben Urbonas of the UD8.FCD and Greg Moore of the USACE requested that
drawings of the proposed Installation be sent to them so that they could review them
prior to the construction of the gaging station.

The general timing of the project was discussed. Jim Curnes wanted to know when
he could expect construction to stert. Ron Rossmiller Sllld that WWE envisioned a 7
month process: 2 for design, I for reviews, 1 for the letting process, IInd 3 for
construction. Ben Urbonas felt that the construction period could be as much as 6
months because of rOCK delivery needs. Quarrying operations might be the critical
path constraint. This is a matter which WWE would investigate in final design.

Cliff Pugh said that the USBR modeling would be completed by the end of April. If
design begins on May I, then construction could begin in September or October.
Even with a 6 months construction period, this would still have construction com-
pleted before the 1990 runoff sellson. However, there is no time for delays.

Cliff Pugh distributed copies of work done to date by the USBR and work still to be
completed (copy attached). Ken Wright said he and local, state, and federal gov-
ernment officials wanted to thank the USBR for the highly professional and great
work they hlld done on the model. The rest of the group echoed his thllnKs.

Greg Moore indicated that a 404 permit will be required with publiC notice for the
project. He will need a general drllwing of the boat chute configurlltions on 81/2-
by II-Inch paper along with total quantities. The process could be started now.

The meeting adjourned about 11 :30 a. m.
